What this page is, and what it is not
The phrase “Turkey teeth” is used in the UK for low-priced cosmetic dental work bought abroad that goes wrong.
This page is written by a clinic in Istanbul, so read it with that in mind. It does not say that every clinic abroad is bad or that every clinic at home is good, and it names no other clinic. It does not quote a failure rate either: the price research it is built on does not measure one, and we will not print a number we cannot source. What it can do is show what a price does and does not cover, which is the question to settle before you pay anyone.
A low price can cover less than you think
Home-country price ranges are wide, and the research behind our comparison pages shows why.
Implant, abutment and crown, UK: £585 to £3,500, median £2,500 (TreatCompare, May 2026). The research notes that the low end is the implant only, and that the scan or a graft is often extra.
Implant, abutment and crown, USA: $1,500 to $6,000. A graft or sinus lift adds $300 to $5,000 (Dentaly US).
Implant, abutment and crown, Germany: €1,500 to €3,000, with some sources going up to about €5,500 including the crown. The sources disagree, so the research keeps the wide range.
The same rule applies to any price you are quoted, here or at home: find out exactly what it covers.
Veneers and the “Hollywood smile”: count the teeth
Veneers are priced per tooth, so a full smile is a multiplication, and a price for “a smile” tells you little until you know how many teeth are behind it.
UK, porcelain or E-max veneer: £500 to £1,000 per tooth, median £614 (TreatCompare, May 2026).
Germany, veneer: €700 to €1,500 per tooth (Verbraucherzentrale, 2024).
USA, veneer: $500 to $2,500 per tooth (Dentaly US, November 2025).
For 20 units, the UK per-tooth range gives about £10,000 to £20,000. That is an estimate based on per-tooth prices, not a quoted price. When you compare any smile makeover, compare it per tooth, and ask how many teeth it covers.
Questions to ask any clinic, including us
– What exactly does the price include: the scan, the implant, the abutment, the crown, any graft?
– For veneers and smile makeovers, how many teeth does the price cover?
– How many trips does the treatment need, how many days will I be away, and who will see me for check-ups afterwards?
– Who will treat me, and how can I check their qualifications and registration?
– What happens, and who pays, if something needs fixing after I am home?
– Are the plan and the price written down before I pay anything?
Ask every clinic you are considering for the answers in writing, and compare them line by line.
What BM does
– We publish prices on this site as “from” prices. The exact quote comes from a coordinator.
– Our country comparison pages set home prices from named sources beside ours.
– Our coordinators are available on WhatsApp 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Clinic opening hours are separate.
– After you return home, aftercare is remote, by a dedicated aftercare team.
What BM does not do
– We do not promise a result. No dental result can be promised in advance, by us or by anyone.
– Remote aftercare is not a substitute for a dentist who can examine you in person. If something needs a hands-on look, you will need a dentist where you live.
How we got these figures
Every figure on this page is a range from a named source, in the local currency, and none is converted. They are private prices paid by the patient, without insurance unless stated. Price-comparison sites, insurers and price lists give indicative figures, not official fee surveys, so treat them as a guide and check any price with the clinic that quotes it. The per-tooth figure multiplied by 20 is our own arithmetic, labelled as an estimate. We did not use any Turkish clinic’s website as a source. Every page was opened on 4 October 2026, and the figures should be re-checked yearly.
